Welcome to
Ranman Sake Brewery.

Nestled in the heavy snows of Yuzawa, Akita, stands a brewery with a century of history.
"To craft a sake rooted in the very essence of Japan."
In 1922, with this founding vision,
the journey of Ranman began.

Deep winter snows and crystal-clear waters.
A serene environment nurtured by the crisp, cold air.
Embracing the unique nature of this land,
we have refined our craft, inherited passion,
and devoted ourselves to the art of fermentation.
Polishing, koji-making, yeast starter, fermentation, pressing, and bottling.
From a single grain of rice to a single drop of sake,
the heart and soul of our craftsmen are woven into every step.

Sake is a "crystal of fermentation,"
reflecting the unique character of our brewery.
We invite you to savor the story of every glass born in this place.

Our Craftsman

Toji (Master Brewer) Osamu Sato

"Sake is a living thing."
Observing the shifts in fermentation,
I check the temperature, aroma, and the state of the foam every single day.
Missing no subtle difference,
I strive for the best in every passing moment.
There are no shortcuts in sake making.
Facing the work of invisible microorganisms,
we quietly accumulate time and patience.
What we pour into every drop
is a century of inherited skill,
and the unique terroir of snowy Yuzawa.
